Impact Of Climate On Melbourne
Changes To Air quality
There has been many issues that revolved around air pollutants and has affected our health.
For one, pollution and increase fossil fuels have lead to an increase in mortality that resulted in repertory health. Also the air levels and the exposure to pollution have reached higher than ever expected and has surpassed the health guidelines over the past years. Some prime examples that are causing this health issue is motor vehicles and fossil fuels from businesses. This is an issue that will never go away even though it can be decreased and had decreased by reducing car usage and lower amounts of fossil fuels. Overall, this is a important issue that needs to be fixed because it can increase asthma attacks, increase mortality, increase repertory infections and increase breathing problems.

• Climate change is altering abiotic environments, causing habitat loss and affecting energy transfer across food chains, as a result of loss of proper nutrients
• Rising ocean temperatures and corrosion of coasts may cause further bleaching of the Great Barrier Reef, affecting many marine plants and animals, and coral communities
• Climate change may cause droughts and reduced rain fall, which may impact certain species sensitive to changes in temperature and precipitation
• Intense rainfall may affect water quality as storm water pollution can impact aquatic living conditions and alter the quality of water required by certain species

Changes To EcoSystem : A Loss of habitat
• Many reptiles face loss of habitat and interrupted breeding seasons as a result of warming temperatures, reducing population levels of certain species
• Increased carbon dioxide levels will favour trees and shrubs over grasses, leading to massive habitat reduction
• Climate change is resulting in slower reproduction rates as many animals suffer from loss of habitat and are unable to find proper nesting sites
• Poor snowfall seasons, combined with loss of habitat and increased predation, could lead to its extinction of certain mammals
• Increase in temperatures and humidity levels could cause invasive plant and animal to migrate to the warmer Australian climate

Diseases Due To Climate change
![Picture](/uploads/3/0/4/4/30440492/744653532.jpg)
• Because of the high increase in temperatures, illnesses like Malaria, Dengue fever, Ross River fever and other mosquito transmitted diseases are rapidly spreading throughout Australia
• The Ross River virus disease is the most common and widespread mosquito-borne infection in Australia
• Rainfall, temperature and high tides are determinants of Ross River virus transmission
• Specifically, a combination of rainfall and minimum temperature will result in increased Ross River virus infections
• Cholera, meliodosis, and marine vibrio infections are a result of increased coastal flooding
• The large increase in temperature due to these climate changes also result in a risk of food related infections such as salmonellosis and listeriosis
